We hope you’ve enjoyed the trail during the summer with the invasion of 80 large and 97 small penguins throughout the city. The trail has encouraged locals to get out and explore their city as well as new visitors to Dundee and the surrounding region.
The penguins will go to auction on Monday 24th September to raise vital funds for the Maggie’s Centre in Dundee.
Our centre, based in the grounds of Ninewells Hospital, costs £540,000 per year to run and our aim is to make this total at the grand auction.
The live auction will be hosted at V&A Dundee on Monday 24th September from 6:30pm and will be streamed through our website and social media pages- be sure to check it out!
If you would like to bid for a penguin but can’t be with us in person you can bid online. A £500 deposit will be taken to allow you to bid. If you are not a successful buyer the money will be refunded the following day, and if you are successful it will be deducted from your total spend.
The auction is to be held by ANM Group. ANM Group is one of Scotland’s leading farming, food and finance businesses and ranked in the Top 25 of UK co-operatives. With more than a century spent at the centre of the Scottish agricultural industry, ANM’s interests are in livestock auctioneering and marketing, the land market, commercial and industrial plant, machinery and equipment sales, as well as the catering and hospitality industry.
